While technology has made music more accessible to the public, it has done so at the industries expense. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, downloading free music from the internet has officially become the number one way of obtaining music ("Weighty words: the," 2007). That can only mean one thing - the depletion of CD sales. Is this fair? Is this morally and ethically correct? America is essentially robbing the music industry of what should be their hard earned cash thanks to technology. This has given rise to many questions of whether the rapid expansion of technology has been beneficial or harmful to the music industry.
